Einige M3 MacBook Pro- und iMac-Geräte verweigern die Aktualisierung auf macOS Sonoma
Apples aktualisierte M3 MacBook Pro- und iMac-Computer werden mit installiertem macOS Ventura ausgeliefert, aber einige Leute können ihre Maschine anscheinend nicht auf macOS Sonoma aktualisieren.
macOS 13 Ventura wurde letzten Oktober veröffentlicht und ist damit für Apple-Verhältnisse ein altes Betriebssystem. Das neue MacBook Pro und der iMac mit M3-Antrieb werden mit einer unveröffentlichten Version von macOS Ventura 13.5 geliefert, die die neuen Chips unterstützt.
Einige Leute fanden es jedoch unmöglich, ihre brandneue M3-Maschine auf die neueste macOS 14 Sonoma-Software zu aktualisieren, die letzten Monat veröffentlicht wurde.

Dieses Problem scheint nicht jeden einzelnen Besitzer dieser Maschinen zu betreffen. Den Betroffenen wird kein macOS-Update angezeigt Systemeinstellungen > Allgemein > Software-Update. Für sie wird macOS 13.5 als neueste verfügbare Version anstelle von macOS Sonoma 14.1 angezeigt.
Die M3 Pro- und M3 Max-Versionen des MacBook Pro sind nicht betroffen.
Da macOS Ventura 13.5 im Juli veröffentlicht wurde, kam MacRumors zu dem Schluss, dass Apple wahrscheinlich schon vor einigen Monaten mit der Bevorratung dieser M3-Macs begonnen hat. Angesichts der begrenzten Produktion von 3-nm-Chips von TSMC klingt das für uns ungefähr richtig (das ist auch der Grund, warum Apple den M3 nicht zuerst in seinen beliebtesten Macs vorgestellt hat).
Ok, hier ist etwas Seltsames.

Eine vorübergehende Lösung
Apple arbeitet ständig an Updates für seine aktuellen Betriebssysteme. Vielleicht wird eines davon dieses lästige Problem beheben. Laut 9to5Mac funktioniert der Versuch, macOS Sonoma 14.1 über den Mac App Store herunterzuladen, ebenfalls nicht, mit der Fehlermeldung, dass dieser Build nicht verfügbar ist. Das stimmt offensichtlich nicht, da das macOS Sonoma-Installationsprogramm seit dem Start im App Store verfügbar ist.
